"Inspection should bring out the best not just look for the worst"
I am a CSWIP senior welding inspector contracting for Inspection and QA/QC positions in the renewable energy and Oil & gas divisions as well as structural steel elements of construction projects.
Ferrodynamic inspection has grown out of a family history of inspection which has provided invaluable insights; seeing how companies develop, understanding thier systems and failures, observing thier limitations and being a part of thier success.
A great deal has also been taken from working and training alongside other Inspectors, Engineers, Designers, Fabricators, Clients and Owners. Personal experience at seeing how others have delivered similar services (big and small) and how recipients have responded is developing Ferrodynamic Inspection's and own identity within the Inspection world.

Offshore / Wind
Shadowed QA/QC on the construction of offshore platforms/substations in the North East of England for the Gwynt y mor, Galloper and Lincs wind farms. This was an eye opening time for myself and I look forward to being on large projects such as these again.
Process piping (M&E / O&G)
I have experience over several renewable energy projects working on process piping for Bio-gas plants and Anerobic digesters as inspection & QA/QC.
Due to the relitively recent introduction of this technology with no specific sector to fit into, a cross over of Oil and Gas specifications (due to methane production/type of facillities), M&E and Civils resulted. Interpretation and communication of standards here is key as is understanding quality requirements and practices in order to bring together different sectors who inevitably see the same job from different perspectives. |
Construction
The new Terminal 2, as pictured, was during construction the biggest site of its kind in Europe at the time and now spans 210,000m2.
Opened in 2014 replacing the original terminal this was an NDT job involving UT & MPI teams & lasting almost 2 years during erection and completion of steelwork - from foundations to the roof. Extending Terminal 3ib Airside shortly after was my first step into welding inspection. |
